December 08, 2009. Letter of Acknowledgement from the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia

On December 8, in the name of the director of the Turquoise Tea Group Sergey Khorolsky the Letter of Acknowledgement from the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers was received, and we quote: «The Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers would like to express its profound gratitude to you and the staff of your Company for the participation and assistance in the organization of the Final Meeting of Representatives of the Hospitality Industry of Russia on December 2, 2009 in Tatyana Hotel. We hope the presence of your products at this event will serve to promote your brand. We value our partnership and hope for further long-term cooperation for the good of the development of the catering and hospitality industry of Russia».

Within the framework of the Final Meeting of Representatives of the Hospitality Industry of Russia we introduced to the participants the tea service options developed by our experts, our tea-ware (and in particular — the tea-and-coffee siphon), teas (primarily the rationed and packaged oxygen-free) and tea dainties. And, naturally, we treated everyone to everything.

We are grateful to the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia for this high evaluation of our work, hope for a long and successful cooperation with FRH, and express our cordial readiness to support projects and initiatives of the Federation in future.

Laurent Boussié, David Hemmerlé and Jérôme Rigaud

December 07, 2009. France 2 in the office of Turquoise Tea

On Thursday, November 3, in the office of the Turquoise Tea Group French television channel France 2 correspondents were working. At present, France 2 is developing a program about Jérôme Rigaud, the brand-chef of the Kremlyovsky Catering Center — and tea serving at governmental receptions will be part of that program.

The best spot to make footage of tea service turned out to be the spot where this service is developed — in the office of Turquoise Tea. We were visited by Laurent Boussié (the head of the Moscow’s France 2 bureau), David Hemmerlé (chef of Baccarat Restaurant) and Jérôme Rigaud naturally. In our testing room the tea was served along the same standard it is served by at governmental receptions. Over a cup of tea, Sergey Khorolsky told the guests of the modern peculiarities and standards of tea service in Russia, of the tea ideas and concepts our company is implementing, and of how these ideas integrate with the concepts of Kremlyovsky.

We will keep you informed on the air time of the program about Jérôme Rigaud.

PIR 2009. Work and meetings.

October 7, 2009. PIR 2009

September 30 through October 3, in Moscow PIR 2009 exhibition took place — an event traditionally rich in thematic workshops, new ideas and interesting solutions. This year, special attention of hospitality professionals was drawn to the issues of HoReCa companies' staff training. The Russian Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers also actively supports initiatives concerning staff training. The Innovative Technology Department of the RFRH (headed by Igor Karapetyan) is currently working on a broad range of programs, whose implementation will enable to advance the level of hospitality staff.

This year's PIR hosted representative delegations from Japan and France, as well as the Assembly of the Guild of Russian Chefs — and all of the most important meetings took place in the VIP sector, accompanied by tea service by the Turquoise Tea Group. The tea served in siphons, our rationed teas and our tea dainties enjoyed steady success among hospitality professionals.

We hope that the promising contacts with Russian and foreign companies we established at the exhibition develop into long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.

The famous master ceramists Mssr. Chivy Chen and Sergey Khorolsky

July 27, 2009. Tea Taiwan in July 2009

On July 22 and 23, in the course of a business trip to Taiwan a meeting between the Director General of Turquoise Tea Group (TTG) Sergey Khorolsky and the famous master ceramists Mssr. Chivy Chen of Sindin, Taipei District) and Lai (Guangsi, Singchzhou District) took place. During these friendly meetings the collection of the Turquoise Tea gained on some rarest samples of tea-ware (in the nearest future we will produce and post the photographs of every exhibit).

Besides, Sergey Khorolsky was presented with samples of the products by the famous manufacturer of natural bio-enzymes — derivatives of the natural vinegar, which can be broadly (and deliciously!) used in gastronomy. At present, our experts are studying these samples as regards the possibility of their use in the mainstream activities of the Turquoise Tea.

Also within the framework of these working visits, we have prepared to launch a new range of tea dainties to be announced in the closest future.

As far as all other Taiwanese meetings’ effectiveness is concerned — we will keep you posted!

Yachting Tea

July 08, 2009. The new tea for new impressions

The Turquoise Tea Group launches into the market their new product — Yachting Tea.

Yachting Tea is a set to make and drink tea in extraordinary conditions — on board a ship or plane, in the office, on the golf course or any other place, where you can get boiling water, but hardly the tea-ware suitable to brew and serve tea. Yachting Tea is a brew-and-drink system designed to be used with the rationed tea in oxygen-free pods. In order to obtain a portion of healthy and invigorating Yachting Tea it is enough to open the tea-pod, put the tea in the special container and pour boiling water over it. In a few minutes the tea is ready — you can drink it right out of that same cup (the special rock-paper wrapper will protect your hands from contacting the hot interior of the cup).

Last week, the test run of the Yachting Tea trial batch successfully concluded in the south of France. Yachting Tea was received well and acquired a high mark from the guests and experts of the Cote d’-Azur. In a few weeks, we are planning to present it to the Royal Yachting Club on Thames (London, UK). Further on, Yachting Tea is going to be presented to the leading restaurateurs of Italy and France.

The detailed description of Yachting Tea accompanied with illustrations will appear on our web-site in the nearest future.

The Acknowledgment

June 26, 2009. The Acknowledgment

On June 25, Director General of the Kremlyovsky Catering Center Igor Bukharov awarded Director General of the Turquoise Tea Group and CJSC INTEX Sergey Khorolsky the Acknowledgment of the fruitful cooperation in servicing Governmental Receptions.

Starting last autumn, Sergey Khorolsky together with the specialists of the Kremlyovsky Catering Center arranged for and conducted over 20 tea parties of the premium level — both as regards the participants and the tea service. Among the latest events we would like to specifically mention the Shanghay Cooperation Organization summit (SCO) and the first ever summit of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China), which took place on June 15-16 in Yekaterinburg.

We are extremely grateful to the Kremlyovsky Catering Center, and to Igor Bukharov personally, for the kind words we received, and we shall do our very best to continue developing our cooperation.

Lychee-flavored black tea

June 8, 2009. New flavored black tea

The range of teas of the Turquoise Tea Group welcomes a new member! This black tea (BOP of the Assam tea bush) is lychee-flavored. It has the exotic fruit fragrance, explicit solid taste, and the warm tea aftertaste — it perfectly warms you up and slightly relaxes.

Lychee (litchi) is the name of the Litchi chinensis tree fruit allegedly originating from China. Today, litchi is one of the most popular fruit of the Southeastern Asia. In Europe it is long and well known, but is not as widespread, mainly due to the difficulties of transportation when fresh. But if you happen to come to that part of the world where Lychee grows, put this fruit on to your gastronomic list — the nicotine acid contained in litchi impedes the development of atherosclerosis.

Indeed, lychee-flavored tea does not have nicotine acid in abundance, and yet it does have the good taste of black tea and the splendid flavor of the exotic fruit. Lychee-flavored tea is a simple and a very tasty drink, combining the traditional solid character of the good black tea and the exquisiteness of tropic fruit.

We grow our tea refraining from the use of pesticides. It does not contain any artificial conservatives, dyes, or GMC. At present, it is mainly supplied to cafes and restaurants (where it is already fairly popular). In the nearest future we are launching the retail version of the black lychee-flavored tea in tins and oxygen-free tea-pods.

The mountain preserve of the Renai District.

April 13, 2009. Working visits and a research expedition

On April 9, in the course of a working visit to Taiwan, Turquoise Tea Group general director Sergey Khorolsky with the assistance of employees of the Taiwanese office of the company, as well as of guides from the people of Ayatal (one of the 14 authentic tribes of Taiwan) conducted an expedition to the mountain preserve of the Renai District — one of the three places home to the Taiwanese endemic tea trees.

This outing was extremely interesting both historically and research-wise. The matter is that it is broadly believed that the tea bush first were imported to Taiwan from the mainland China, and then from Burma and Ceylon. It is these bush that laid basis of the industrial growing of tea on the island, and the original Taiwanese tea allegedly never existed at all. However, this is not true. Starting already in the 1920's, the Experimental Tea Station of Taiwan started research to create genuine unique sorts of tea bush. Most of those were based on the shoots of the local large-leaf (Assamite) sort of tea tree. In this respect, the very fact of existence on the island of old tea trees (in many cases over 500-years old) is the best proof of the authenticity of the tea history of Taiwan.

At present, the wild tea trees can be found in three hardly accessible high mountain areas of the island (in the Counties of Nantou, Kaohsiung and Taitung). All these regions (with total square of about 800 hectares or under) are proclaimed preserves, and thus access to the old tea trees is practically denied.

We'd like to express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Chyu — the Head of the Renai District Administration, for the understanding and assistance in arranging the expedition into the preserve, which helped discover the ancient tea trees.

Alongside the research expedition, Sergey Khorolsky also conducted working visits to the tea gardens of the Counties of Yunlin and Nantou, thus completing the practical familiarization with all known tea regions of Taiwan.

Turquoise Tea at Taiwan Sourcing 2009

Turquoise Tea at Taiwan Sourcing 2009

Upon the invitation from the Taiwanese International Trade Association (TAITRA), the Turquoise Tea Group took part in the conference Taiwan Sourcing 2009 — the most significant Taiwanese event in the sphere of international trade and cooperation. The most important partners of Taiwanese companies, cooperation with whom is considered vital for the economy of the entire island, are traditionally invited to work at this conference. We are very glad to state that starting this year our company made it into that honored list.

In the immense diversity of Taiwanese goods offered to us, we have selected some of the most prominent items of interest, which will broaden the Turquoise Tea range, and we hope that Russian and foreign tea lovers will find them to their tastes.

This year, over 700 participants from 63 countries took part in the conference. Taiwan Sourcing 2009 will be held until April 2.

Using this opportunity, we’d like to thank sincerely the Moscow Office of TAITRA for the superb organization of the Russian representation in this event.
